And now some funny stuff. I'll try to post some new funny images every week. Stay updated.

Right, well, I added some waypoints for the bots and I also gave the built-in movie recorder a try. Here you can see me getting killed over and over again by two very detirmened bots... I could really use some feedback on the weapons I've created so far. If you are interested, you can download them here. To install the files in the game, follow these steps: 1. Make a backup of your models folder located in (windows) "C:\program files\Sauerbraten\packages\models" (recommended but not necessary) 2. Extract the folder from my .zip archive to the model folder. 3. Open up Sauerbraten and load a map. 4. Type the command /hudgunsdir "my_weapons" <--- since that is the name of my folder, if you renamed it, type your name here instead. ...and there you go, if you did everything right you are now supposed to be able to see my weapons. To change back to the standard weapons, type /hudgunsdir "". Enjoy! Now I got a server up and running with a preview version of "multiplayermap1" in Coop-Edit mode. The map can be downloaded by the "/getmap" command. Here are some technical details: Host IP address: 192.168.1.4 Port number: 28785 (can vary from time to time) These things aren't important at all but it might help you recognize the server easier. For the most time it will just be easy to find my server under the description of "VITRIOL Clan Server". Also note that the server won't be up all the time. Also here are some more screenshots of the map: That's all today. I'll be posting more screenshots and server info later. If you want to make an appointment on the Cube 2 server with me then send an email to "mikomdude@hotmail.com" and I'm sure we can work something out.
For a few years now I've had this lovely game called Cube 2 Sauerbraten. Don't let the strange name fool you, Cube 2 is a pretty unique game. It has a built in map editor which uses, as the name says, a cube-based system to create the environments using a new 6-directional heightfield (or octree) world model. An octree, in Sauerbraten, is a cube that can be split into eight smaller cubes that can then be done the same to. This allows much more complex level geometry and easier editing. The gameplay itself is based upon the Quake-games. As for what I'm doing with this game/mapeditor, I'm modding it to give the game a more realistic feel. Also because it's actually quite easy. After modeling my custom mapmodels in TrueSpace, I export them to a nice little free program called Misfit Model 3D. In Misfit I make them the right size and, if necessary, animate them. The maps I'll be using them in are naturally created in Cube 2, the program itself. Here, for example, you have my first map (still WIP) called "multiplayermap1", it's a sniper-map with many nice little hideouts. The building (in the middle) is the main building where all of the respawn-points are. You can also see a sniper-rifle which I made specifically for this game. It's very low poly of course. The low-poly sniper rifle is loosely based upon the Arctic Warfare Magnum (AWM) which is used by the Netherlands Armed Forces, United Kingdom Armed Forces and German Forces among others. The model itself is 849 #ver which is about 1706 Tris. I've also textured the powerplant-model that I made a few weeks ago. The original design credits go to Kjell "iQew" Bunjes who made the awesome concept for this model. Above: The model rendered in Truespace. I made the textures myself but as I said, the original design of the model was made by Mr Bunjes. Below: The model in Cube 2. Note that this is without a doubt the worst screenshot I've ever taken. This part of the map also needs much more detail which I'm working on at this very moment. The latest thing I did was add my M4a1 Carbine model to the game. That's all I've been up to since my last blog, hope I'll be able to show you some more results in my next blog. "May the randomness be with you..."
